University partners with Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, hosts Big Band Concert Aug. 25
The University of Lynchburg will enter into a formal partnership with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, Aug. 25. The agreement, to be signed on the University campus that afternoon, will be followed by a 7 p.m. performance of LSO’s Big Band.

University honors its veterans with concert Nov. 11 and 12
The University of Lynchburg will honor its U.S. military veterans with a concert, “Duty, Honor, Country: An American Salute,” on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11 and 12. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Schewel Hall’s Sydnor Performance Hall. Tickets are free, but required for admission.

Not long before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Christopher Badgett ’13 and his mother had planned to see “The Color Purple” together. The popular musical, based on a novel by Alice Walker and a 1985 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, is one of Badgett’s favorites. So is one of its musical numbers, “I’m Here.”
