African-Caribbean Union
The African-Caribbean Union formerly African Union is an alliance of African and Caribbean students. The African-Caribbean Union seeks to welcome people of African and Caribbean descent into a community of support and reliability. We are a student body looking to provide a safe space to converse about issues that embody African and Caribbean culture and values and to educate the campus of the University of Lynchburg about the rich customs and heritages embedded in the African continent. Our motto: “Branches to roots” highlights the diaspora of African ancestry and the incorporation of African culture in our various communities.
Alpha Psi Lambda
The mission statement of Alpha Psi Lambda emphasizes the importance we place on academics, diversity, and community involvement.”To promote continued personal and collective growth of our membership, success, and unity through education, leadership, cultural awareness, and community service.”
Black Student Association
Our mission is to establish a cultural environment that encourages our members to be inclusive and diverse while engaging in discussions/activities on social, political, and educational issues. We aspire to illustrate diligence in our working future, debilitate societal stereotypes, and influence our community. We are Black Excellence.
Gender and Sexuality Alliance
We are an affinity group working to support the LGBTQIA+ students on the University of Lynchburg’s campus. Our mission is to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all people, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
Hispanic Student Society
The Hispanic Student Society is a community-based organization. Our mission is to educate our campus about the Hispanic and Latino culture through events, guest speakers, and presentations.
International Society
The University of Lynchburg International Society is a special interest organization. The society unites Americans and international students through social and educational programs. In addition, it networks with current students to bring global awareness and encourage the appreciation of diversity among Lynchburg’s students.
Man2Man
Man2Man is an organization that focuses on the development of successful men of color at the University of Lynchburg. By mentoring throughout the community and bonding, these young men achieve academic excellence and life success as a group, as well as individually.
Native American Student Association
Native American Student Association is a special interest organization. NASA unites Native American and non-Native American students through social and educational programs. In addition, NASA networks with Lynchburg students to bring awareness of issues of the Native American community and encourage the appreciation of diversity among University students.
NAACP
Our mission is to ensure the equality of all citizens economically. Achieve equality and eliminate any racial prejudice that may happen within our campus or surrounding community. Educate everyone on their constitutional rights and take lawful action to secure the exercise of all of their rights. We aspire to give back to our Lynchburg community by hosting annual events about your rights to vote. Lastly, we want everyone’s voices to be heard. This is the NAACP.
Neurodiverse Student Alliance
This group is for individuals with a disability, individuals who identify as neurodivergent, or any individual who seeks to be an ally with a shared interest in promoting greater inclusion, understanding, and acceptance of neurodiversity on campus.
Woman 2 Woman
Woman to Woman aspires to establish a safe environment where women of color in the University of Lynchburg community can embrace their differences and encourage them in all aspects of life. Membership is open to female students, faculty, and staff who identify as of color.

The African American Affinity Group at the University of Lynchburg provides an organized support system that fosters a collegial campus climate and a culture of unity, equity, respect, and mutual support among African American and Black faculty and staff.
