For August 2021
To make your transition to life at Lynchburg as an Access (age 25 and over) or second-degree student as smooth as possible, we offer programs and events specifically for you. We’re also available to answer your questions any time.
Get ready for Lynchburg in six easy steps:
Submit Your Official Transcript
After paying your reservation deposit, you will need to make sure you submit your official transcript from all institutions you attended. Once we receive your official transcript, we’ll be able to do an official credit evaluation for you.
Make an Advising Appointment
Once we receive your official transcript and an official credit evaluation is completed, you will receive an email in May with your advisor’s name and contact information. In that email there will be a link to make your advising appointment to discuss your course schedule. Students will not be able to meet with their advisor until we receive their official transcript and credit evaluation.
Before you meet with your advisor,
- Review your transfer credit evaluation and have it with you. You should receive this from the Registrar’s office.
- Become familiar with the academic catalog and the course requirements for the major(s) in which you are interested.
- Come prepared with any questions you may have regarding your major, career interests, internships, etc.
In addition to helping you plan your schedule, your advisor can:
- Help you create a long-term plan for graduation
- Tell you about major-specific clubs, organizations and other opportunities
- Advise you about opportunities for internships, research or study abroad programs
- Help you explore post-graduate education and career opportunities
Register for Classes Online
After you talk with your academic advisor, you can register for classes online at myLynchburg.
You will receive instructions from your academic advisor on how to register online for your classes. If you have any questions about online registration, please call 434.544.8218.
Please note: If a class you want is closed, speak to your advisor. Your advisor may suggest alternatives that will still help you progress along in your program.
Submit Health Form (optional)
All full-time undergraduate students need to complete the health form (PDF) regardless of whether you live on or off campus. As an Access or Second Degree student, you are not required to submit a health form, but you cannot use the health services on campus without submitting this form.
To get more information about the health center and details about the form, go to our Health Center website for required information or contact them at 434.544.8357.
Check-In to the University
Students will complete an online check-in process and will receive additional information in July.
Complete Your Online Orientation
Access Orientation is online and will be shared with you before the start of the semester. We will offer the option for an in person campus tour as we get closer to the fall semester. Please make sure to check your email.
