Faculty Course Materials Requirements

Log in to the University of Lynchburg Akademos website (faculty link in the upper left-hand corner of the screen) with your University username and password to submit your online course materials and fees.

Why am I required to list anything that has a cost to a student for my class online through the faculty portal?
  • The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) makes this a federal requirement for institutions.
  • Our University Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources needs access to this information to provide the services and materials needed by students.
  • Students relying on financial aid dollars need this information to compare costs.
  • It is an institutional contractual requirement to provide this information.
When am I required to have this information online?
As soon as the term is available online. You will be emailed each term when the site is ready for your adoption. HEOA federal guidelines state as soon as the course is made available from the registrar’s office, course material information should be posted.
How do I request a desk copy?
  • Contact the publisher to request a desk copy.
  • If you have faculty development funds to pay for desk copies of your course materials, refer to your academic administrator on how to get reimbursed for online credit card purchases through Akademos. You may also use a University purchasing card (if available) to buy from Akademos.
