History scholar heads to NYC
Mandie Middleton, a rising junior history major and museum studies minor from Nokesville, Va., has been named to the 2011 Gilder Lehrman History Scholars Program. One of only thirty students in the nation selected for this honor, Mandie will participate in a one-week intensive history program in New York City June 18-25.
Daura opens with John Cage
The Daura Gallery currently features four exhibitions, including “John Cage: Zen Ox-Herding Pictures”; “Chinese & Japanese Artifacts from the Collection”; “Antonio Carbonati: Engravings of Rome”; and “Pierre Daura: Portraits and Self-Portraits.
LC partners with Historic Sandusky
A partnership between Lynchburg College and Historic Sandusky, an important Civil War site near the campus, has been formed.
The development of the non-profit partnership originated with an inquiry from the Strategic Planning Committee of the Historic Sandusky Foundation Board (HS) about the possibility of a formal relationship with LC.
Korean artist to attend opening
Kwang-Young Chun will attend the opening of his exhibition, Aggregations, New Work, at 4 p.m. January 17 at the Daura Gallery. The exhibition will run through March 2.
