“Faculty have office hours, but they will help you outside of those hours, too.”
Majors: Art [Studio Art Emphasis] (BA), Communication Studies [Convergent Journalism Emphasis] (BA)
Nat took her first photography class her sophomore year at Lynchburg. Fast forward two years and Nat was a common sight on campus, shooting photos for the Office of Marketing and Communications (MARCOM) and at Hornets athletic events.
At MARCOM, Nat worked directly under staff photographer and mentor John McCormick, who said she was a “tremendous and huge” help at Homecoming, Parents Weekend, Commencement, and other events. Her photos have been used on the University website, including “Faces of Lynchburg,” and are also widely used in enrollment materials.
While working on her degree in art and communication studies with an emphasis in studio art/convergent journalism, Nat also did freelance sports photography for several NCAA Division I universities, including Virginia Tech, Duke University, and Liberty University.
While sports photography is her true love, Nat also has done photography internships at the North Carolina and Minnesota zoos.
Today, Nat is Duke University’s director of athletics photography.
