Founders Week at the University of Lynchburg honors Josephus and Sarah Hopwood who founded then Virginia Christian College in 1903. The week celebrates our culture of philanthropy and the University’s growth from the initial five $100 gifts invested by the Hopwoods.

All classes are welcome to join, especially the Class of 1971 who are celebrating a belated 50th Reunion. Tickets are $30 per person. Advanced registration is required.

7:30 p.m. | Choral Union Concert, “Lighter Fare” The University of Lynchburg Choral Union is set to perform a concert of choral music with a clever twist. The ensemble will showcase selected repertoire inspired by Eric Whitacre’s two collections called “Animal Crackers”. Additionally, they will also present both classic and original jazz arrangements. The performance will feature guest artists, and the Choral Union will accept donations towards the cost of the show. Admission is free, and tickets are not required.
