This program is currently under a “teach-out” plan. The program will be discontinued, but current students enrolled in the program will be allowed to complete their degrees.
The physics minor explores the fundamental principles that govern our universe. As a core scientific discipline, a backing in physics provides insight that’s not only vital to scientists, but applies broadly to a wide array of disciplines, including business, law, and history.
This program begins with a strong basis in calculus, leading you through Newtonian mechanics, electromagnetic theory, thermodynamics, and modern physics. Foundational courses cover vibrations, waves, optics, radioactivity, fluids, and more.
Designed for students of various academic pursuits, this program offers a blend of theoretical concepts and hands-on work. You’ll come away from your studies with honed laboratory skills and scientific writing skills, along with an understanding of how course concepts apply across the sciences and the physical world as a whole.
