Concert Choir
The Concert Choir is a large choral ensemble designed to provide a high quality choral experience to all students at University of Lynchburg.
Membership is open to any student who meets the minimum requirement of voice and musicianship. Interviews are held during the first week of each semester.
The choir prepares and performs various choral literatures from medieval to 20th century. There are 3 concerts on campus each year: one in the fall, the Carols by Candlelight service, and one in the spring. The group also performs on special occasions such as convocation, Parents and Family Weekend, and commencement.
Students earn one academic credit hour per semester.
Chamber Choir
The Chamber Choir is a highly selective vocal chamber ensemble of approximately 16 singers. It includes both music and non-music majors at University of Lynchburg and may include singers from the community.
Membership is by audition and only for those who meet the demands of voice, sight reading, overall musicianship, and commitment. Members are expected to have some formal voice training.
The choir performs vocal chamber music of every musical period, but devotes its energies to performance of 20th-century choral works with a vision to promote understanding among peoples of different cultures. Membership in Chamber Choir also requires membership in the Concert Choir. The choir tours throughout the region, East Coast, and abroad.
Students earn one academic credit hour per semester.
