The health and physical education emphasis is for students who are passionate about promoting wellness and physical activity but do not plan to seek teacher licensure upon graduation. The program covers human anatomy and physiology, nutrition, exercise physiology, and the psychology of sport and exercise alongside key active teaching methods.
You’ll learn the differences in teaching various sports, fitness skills, and outdoor recreation and gain valuable hands-on experience through health labs and clinics. This emphasis will help you become an advocate for the well-being of diverse student bodies and make a difference in the community you serve.
Graduates are well-positioned to serve in the health and wellness field, community health organizations, wellness programs, nontraditional education, and other settings.
