F & J visa holders are allowed to work on campus as a benefit of their visa status. Students may work up to 10 hours per week while school is in session, and up to 40 hours per week during official school breaks. International students must be maintaining status, being enrolled full-time, and be in good standing to be eligible for on-campus employment. International students are only eligible for college program jobs.
Information on student employment opportunities can be found on the Student Employment page of the University of Lynchburg website.
In general, these are the steps you will follow to apply for on-campus employment:
- Complete the Student Employment Application.
- Search for available jobs on Hornet Headquarters.
- Once you have been offered an on-campus job, the Student Employment Coordinator will process your application and provide you with an employment offer letter.
- Once you have the employment offer letter, email the International Student Advisor to set up an appointment.
- Apply for a social security number.
- Give a copy of your social security card to the Student Employment Office once you receive it.
- Begin working (you may not begin working until all previous steps are completed).
