Dr. Len Lecci is on a mission to help people maintain happy, healthy brains.
Dr. Lecci, a professor of psychology at the University of North Carolina and director of clinical services at MARS Memory-Health Network, will bring that mission to Lynchburg on Thursday, May 17. He will present “Your Happier, Healthy Brain” at University of Lynchburg’s Sydnor Performance Hall in Schewel Hall at 11 a.m. Sponsored by Westminster-Canterbury-Lynchburg and the Beard Center on Aging at University of Lynchburg, Dr. Lecci will share the latest research and advice on practical ways to maintain brain health.
Dr. Lecci believes people need to give the health of their brains at least as much attention as they give to the health of the rest of our bodies. And the earlier they start, the better. However, he notes that it is even possible for people who already have outward signs of dementia to flourish.
This event is open to the public. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with the event starting promptly at 11 a.m. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by calling the Beard Center on Aging at 434.544. 8456.
Co-sponsors of the event include BB&T Bank, BB&T Scott and Stringfellow, Centra, SunTrust Bank/SunTrust Private Wealth, The Trust Company of Virginia, Seniors Guide, and Senior News.
