Beard Center on Aging to host 2022 Regional 50+ Health Fair March 25
The University of Lynchburg’s Beard Center on Aging will host its 2022 Regional 50+ Health Fair: Passport to Healthy Aging from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 25, at River Ridge Mall. Admission is free. The event is co-sponsored by a number of local organizations, including Centra.
Beard Center on Aging offers hope, education to seniors and students during COVID-19
Kayla Hugate ’20 wouldn’t know what it’s like to work at the University of Lynchburg’s Beard Center on Aging during “normal times.” A student in the Master of Public Health program, Hugate started her job as the center’s graduate assistant just last semester, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lynchburg’s Beard Center on Aging to co-sponsor 2020 Faithful Aging Conference
The University of Lynchburg’s Beard Center on Aging is a co-sponsor of the 2020 Faithful Aging Conference: Aging Abundantly. The conference will take place on Tuesday, March 31, at the Bonsack United Methodist Church in Roanoke.
University, parks and rec departments host health fair
The University of Lynchburg, in cooperation with parks and recreation departments from the City of Lynchburg and Bedford and Campbell counties, will host the Regional 50+ Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, November 8.
Aging and Caregiving Resource Center opens at University of Lynchburg
The Beard Center on Aging will host an open house for the Aging and Caregiving Resource Center on Friday, October 12, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Hopwood Hall at the University of Lynchburg. The center helps older adults and caregivers find resources for education, health care, and other needs.

Beard Center on Aging working to keep seniors SAFE from scams
The Beard Center on Aging at Lynchburg College is hosting a conference aimed at protecting older adults from scams and financial exploitation. The event, “SAFE: A Conference on Scams and Financial Exploitation” will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in Schewel Hall at Lynchburg College. The conference is for both older adults and those who serve that population.
