I am the current coordinator for clinical placements for the Athletic Training Education Program. For 11 years I served LC as the Head Athletic Trainer, in addition to being a faculty member in the Health Movement Science and Recreation Program. I have been a certified Athletic Trainer for over 25 years and spent the first five years of my career working as an assistant athletic trainer at Northwestern University.
As Director of District III (Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association) and a member of the NATA Board of Directors, I spend considerable time working in professional service. I am also a member of SLACKs Athletic Training Editorial Review Board, which entails reviewing book proposals. In addition, I review manuscripts for the Journal of Athletic Training and the International Journal of Athletic Therapy & Training. On campus, I serve as the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative for Lynchburg College.
Currently, I have teaching responsibility for Therapeutic Interventions I and II, Examination I & Lab, Administration of AT Programs.. Other courses that I have taught in the past at LC include: Advanced Athletic Training, Injury Evaluation and Assessment, Introduction to Athletic Training, Introduction Practicum in Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition.
I grew up in a small town in western New York but found heaven in Virginia while attending the University of Virginia. I live in a small house on top of a hill overlooking the James River. I am happiest when I am hiking in the mountains or rowing my boat on the river.
