Poet Olga Broumas to read Thursday
Poet Olga Broumas will give a Thornton Reading at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Sydnor Performance Hall.
Broumas has published seven collections of poetry, the first Restlessness in Greece, then a chapbook Caritas, next Beginning with O, with Yale University Press, followed by four other collections with Copper Canyon Press: (Soi Sauvage, Pastoral Jazz, Perpetua, Rave).
Bakken to give reading
Christopher Bakken, Spring Guest Reader, will read from his work Wednesday, March 27 at 8 p.m. in Sydnor Performance Hall.
Bakken is the author of two books of poetry, Goat Funeral (2006) and After Greece (2001), and a culinary memoir called Honey, Olives, Octopus: Adventures at the Greek Table.

Sara Pritchard, Fall Thornton Writer-in-Residence, will read from her work Thursday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Sydnor Performance Hall, Schewel Hall.
Pritchard (pictured at left with Elvis impersonator Frankie Dee) will read from “Help Wanted: Female,” which is the title story from a new collection of linked short stories to be published by Etruscan Press in June 2013.

A former police officer in Baton Rouge, La., writer Laurie Lynn Drummondwill read from her work Thursday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Hopwood Auditorium. Drummond is the spring Thornton Writer-in-Residence at LC.
