The University of Lynchburg is inviting admitted students to attend Days on the Dell, a series of open houses in March and April. The Friday and Saturday events will be held in person and will follow strict COVID-19 guidelines. The dates are March 19, March 27, April 9, April 10, and April 17.
Each Day on the Dell includes a tour of campus and information about student and residence life, as well as academics. There will also be fun activities with other prospective students and opportunities to talk with President Dr. Alison Morrison-Shetlar and faculty and students. Friday open houses start at 1:30 p.m.; Saturday events begin at 8:30 a.m.
Attendees are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as space at each on-campus event is limited to allow for safe social distancing, said Vice President for Enrollment Management Rita Detwiler.
“We’re so excited to welcome future Hornets to campus, and to show them everything Lynchburg has to offer — but we have to do it safely,” Detwiler said. “Thankfully, our COVID-19 Task Force and our health center have done an excellent job at keeping us safe. We have all of the guidelines in place for a safe, in-person open house.”
A health screening, temperature check, and social distancing are part of those guidelines. In addition, masks are mandatory everywhere on campus.
“Our students have been amazing, adhering to all of the safety measures, and it’s why we’ve been able to hold classes on campus and in person all fall and spring,” Detwiler said. “It’s no exaggeration when I say that we’re one of the safest college campuses in Virginia.”
If you’re still uncomfortable visiting in person, there are several virtual opportunities available, and the next best thing to a University of Lynchburg campus visit is this virtual tour.
