Dr. F. Johnson Scott, III, assistant professor of music at the University of Lynchburg, will perform an organ recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, September 10, in Snidow Chapel. The public is invited and admission is free.
The concert will include music composed by Felix Mendelssohn, Johann Sebastian Bach, Olivier Messiaen, Charles-Marie Widor, and Paul Manz.
Dr. Scott has a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music from Shenandoah University. At Lynchburg, he teaches courses in music theory, aural skills, music technology, and music appreciation. He also teaches applied organ lessons, conducts the University’s handbell choir, and is music director and organist at Main Street United Methodist Church in Bedford, Virginia.
