A member of University of Lynchburg’s economics faculty and a senior accounting major have collaborated on a report that explores the impact that the proposed tax reform legislation will have on typical Lynchburg-area families. Dr. Gerald Prante and Alison Turek ’18 released their report this week. You can read it here.
Several regional media outlets covered the report, including ABC13, WDBJ7, and WSLS.
Dr. Prante, an assistant professor of economics, previously worked on tax policy issues in Washington, D.C., as an economist at the Tax Foundation and then Ernst & Young. His policy work has been featured in major news publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and The Economist, among others. He has also appeared on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal program, CNN, CNBC, Fox News, and other television and radio programs.
In 2015, Dr. Prante collaborated with another student, economics major Patrick Clowdis ’16, on a localized study about tax return data. You can read more about that here.
