University of Lynchburg racked up numerous this month from the Virginia Association of College and University Housing Officers.
Brianna Miles ’19 won VACUHO’s Outstanding New Resident Assistant award at the statewide RA conference November 4–5. From Reston, Virginia, Bri serves as a residence assistant in Montgomery Hall, one of LC’s residence halls for first-year students.
“Bri has been a tremendous asset to our residence life program,” said Kristen Cooper, director of Residence Life. “She has demonstrated true commitment to the development and success of her residents. While Bri’s enthusiasm and creativity are wonderful attributes, it is her humble and approachable personality that has allowed her to become a strong mentoring force for fellow RAs and residents.”
At VACUHO’s Virginia Student Services Conference November 18–20, Cooper received the Outstanding Contribution to VACUHO award. Dieyun Song ’15, who is serving as Montgomery Hall director while studying for a Master of Arts in History, received the Outstanding Graduate Student award, and Courtney Kelsey, an area coordinator in residence life, received the Deb Boykin Outstanding Professional award. Wayne Davis, director of Environmental Services, was awarded the VACUHO Service Award.
John Eccles, the recently retired dean for student development, received a Student Affairs Legacy Award at the conference as well.
