University of Lynchburg music groups are preparing to celebrate the holiday season with a concert series featuring returning favorites and new features.
The LC Concert Choir and Choral Union will kick off the series of events with a winter concert on Friday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. No tickets are required.
Carols by Candlelight will offer a more reflective, spiritual focus on the season Sunday, December 4, at 7 p.m. in Snidow Chapel. The Spiritual Life Center and the choral department have organized an evening of traditional lessons and Christmas carols. The concert will feature the Handbell Choir and the Concert Choir. No tickets required.
Free tickets are now available for “Christmas Day in the Morning,” the Wind Symphony and Orchestra Holiday Concert, which will be held December 8 and 9 at at 7:30 p.m. in Sydnor Performance Hall. In addition to the wind symphony and orchestra, the concert will include performances by the community jazz band, and the newly formed University of Lynchburg Chamber Choir. Ice cream and cookies will be served in a reception afterward.
