The Princeton Review has again named University of Lynchburg one of the nation’s best institutions for undergraduate education. LC is featured in school in the education services company’s new 2017 edition of its flagship college guide, The Best 381 Colleges.
Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is one of The Princeton Review’s most popular guides. Published annually since 1992, it includes detailed profiles of the colleges informed by surveys of students. The 2017 profile of University of Lynchburg praises professors and administrators for giving students opportunities to excel in life and leadership and describes a campus with many opportunities to get involved.
“University of Lynchburg’s outstanding academics are the chief reason we chose it for this book and we strongly recommend it to applicants,” says Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s Senior VP-Publisher and author of The Best 381 Colleges.
“We are proud that the Princeton Review and the students it surveys continue to give University of Lynchburg high marks for faculty, academics, and community,” said LC President Dr. Kenneth R. Garren. “Our faculty and staff work together to help students gain knowledge and skills that will help them throughout their lives. Our inclusion in The Best 381 Colleges indicates that we are meeting that goal well.”
In its profile on University of Lynchburg, The Princeton Review quotes students who describe LC as “not just a school, but a family that allows its students to learn and have fun doing it” and a community committed to “fostering and preparing the next generation of leaders.” The students described a vibrant campus life where “the amount of student involvement [is] astonishing.” One student pointed out that “LC is an extremely accepting campus” and “students of all kinds are able to work together.” Students also praised the quality of financial aid, career services, and communication between the Dean of Students office and the student body.
