University of Lynchburg will celebrate the career of John Eccles, vice president and dean for student development, on April 23. All students, alumni, faculty, and staff will be invited to participate in several events that day.
Eccles became LC’s director of housing in 1986 and became vice president and dean 22 years ago. His wife, A.J., has served the college as an academic coach and math instructor for a decade. Both are retiring this June.
LC President Dr. Kenneth R. Garren recently signed a proclamation recognizing April 23 as The Day of Eccles, “a day for University of Lynchburg alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the Eccles family to come together and celebrate the contributions that this wonderful couple has made in their many years of service to our community.” The events will culminate in an activity after a lacrosse game that evening. As the full schedule of events and other details are finalized, they will be added to the page at www.lynchburg.edu/dayofeccles.
