Classes are canceled for April 9 for Red Letter Day — a day for students to attend Student Scholar Showcase and enjoy a picnic in the Dell, and for seniors to take mandatory assessment tests.
The 17th annual Student Scholar Showcase is from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and provides students with an opportunity to present their scholarly research and creative and/or service-learning projects to the campus community in Memorial Ballroom, Schewel 231 and 232, Sydnor Performance Hall, and Dillard Theatre Lobby.
Students tackle a variety of topics at the Student Scholar Showcase. Much of the research is work that students have also presented at professional conferences. About 40 students received professional development grants from the College to travel and participate in conferences this academic year.
Student projects can include scholarly papers, creative writing projects, scientific or historical research projects, or performance arts projects, and may be presented in a variety of formats, including oral presentations and posters.
Check the full schedule and PDFs of abstracts from the presentations. For more information, contact Dr. Allison B. Jablonski at jablonski@lynchburg.edu.
Senior Assessment Day is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The All Campus Picnic begins at 5 p.m. in the Dell, weather permitting. Rain location is the dining room.
