Rising high school juniors and seniors and their families are invited to University of Lynchburg and 23 other institutions during Virginia Private College Week July 29-Aug. 3. Students who visit three colleges during the week will receive special application fee waivers, a nearly $100 savings. Waivers can be redeemed at any of the 24 participating members of CICV>
University of Lynchburg, along with the other members of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV), will host two daily programs for prospective students and their families.
The program offers campus tours and an information session that will include academics, student life, financial aid, and the admissions process. At LC, the programs will be Monday-Friday (July 29-Aug. 2) from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 3, only the 9 a.m. session is available.
A private college education is more affordable than many families think. Last year, 72 percent of freshmen at Virginia private colleges demonstrated financial need. Their average financial aid package was $20,406, (grants, work study, and loans). Virginia residents attending a prviate college in the state will also receive the undergraduate Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG) award, which will be $3,1000 fo2013-2014.
