The School of Graduate Studies is offering a new reading cohort program for licensed teachers to obtain the MEd in Reading at a reduced tuition rate. The cohort will begin in the fall of 2013 and complete the program in the summer of 2015.
The 36-credit hour program includes two tracks – Reading Instruction and Reading Specialist – which provide intensive preparation for educators who are committed to excellence in the teaching of reading and/or serving as reading specialists at the school or division level. The program will also lead to the reading specialist endorsement.
The curriculum will include a total of 12 classes with two classes offered each term. Current plans are for eight classes to meet on campus and four to be offered online.
To apply for the cohort, contact Paula Lichiello, Coordinator of Graduate/Special Programs and Assistant Professor, University of Lynchburg School of Graduate Studies, at 434.544.8464 or lichiello@lynchburg.edu by May 31.
