Rising high school juniors and seniors and their families are invited to University of Lynchburg and 24 other institutions during Virginia Private College Week July 30-Aug. 4. Students who visit three colleges during the week will receive special application fee waivers, a nearly $100 savings.
University of Lynchburg, along with the other members of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV), will host two daily programs for prospective students and their families.
The program offers campus tours and an information session that will include academics, student life, financial aid, and the admissions process. At LC, the programs will be Monday-Friday (July 25-Aug. 3) from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. On Saturday, Aug, 4, only the 9 a.m. session is available.
By visiting three or more of the participating colleges during the week, students will receive three application fee waivers, which can be redeemed at any of the 25 participating members of CICV.
A private college education is more affordable than many families think. Last year, 72 percent of freshmen at Virginia private colleges demonstrated financial need. Their average financial aid package was $20,406 (grants, work study, and loans).
Virginia residents attending a private college in the state will also receive the undergraduate Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG) award, which will be $2,800 for 2012-2013.
Registration for Virginia Private College Week is not required but students are advised to contact the schools they plan to visit. For more information about visiting University of Lynchburg, call 434.544.8300 or 800.426.8101 or check our admission page.
