The Friends of the University of Lynchburg Choral Union will host Here Comes the Sun!, an evening of food and entertainment celebrating the arrival of summer and the tenth anniversary of the Choral Union, on Saturday, June 16, in Memorial Ballroom, Hall Campus Center, University of Lynchburg. Proceeds from the event will help defray expenses of Choral Union performances.
The event will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. A cash bar will offer beer, wine, and sodas. The menu will feature pulled pork barbecue with all the trimmings.
The evening will include dancing to favorite summer hits played by “Reunion of Kiks” with Russ Hovda and the Williams Brothers. Hovda and Jon Williams are 1968 graduates of LC, and Hovda is a member of the Choral Union. Reunion of Kiks features Hovda and Jon Williams as vocalists, Hovda as bassist, Jon Williams as guitarist, and Kyle Williams as drummer.
Other Choral Union members will also provide entertainment. A silent auction, big ticket item raffle, and best summer outfit contest will round out the evening.
