University of Lynchburg students and faculty will perform in the Academy of Fine Arts musical theatre production of Hello, Dolly! May 4-6 and May 12 in the Academy’s Warehouse Theatre, 600 Main Street. May 10 and 11 are sold out.
Six LC students are in the cast, and others are working backstage in the technical areas and with the orchestra. Jeff Wittman, professor of theatre, is directing the show, and Dr. Oeida Hatcher, dean of the School of Communication and the Arts, will conduct the orchestra.
The award-winning Best Musical is a Broadway treat and one of the most enduring musical theatre hits. With songs like Put on your Sunday Clothes, Before the Parade Passes By, and It Only Takes a Moment, this tale of love and match-making is fun for all ages.
