Allie Weir ’10 is the University of Lynchburg all-time goals and points career leader in field hockey, surpassing legend Phebe Phelps’ marks of 106 goals and 227 points set in 1984.
A senior nursing major, Weir (Richmond, Va./James River) was also named the field hockey Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Athlete of the Week. Weir had a record-setting week for the Hornets, with 108 goals and 230 points throughout her tenure at LC. She scored eight goals and assisted on two others for a total of 18 points.
Tuesday afternoon against Mary Washington, she scored once and assisted on another goal in a 4-3 win over the Eagles. On Saturday, she scored four times and had one assist against DePauw. On Sunday, she notched her 14th-career hat trick with three goals in a 6-2 win over Denison. Weir broke the LC record for goals in a career with her second tally just before halftime, and also moved into third on the D-III career goals list.
