More than 200 student leaders were scattered throughout Lynchburg Wednesday doing volunteer work as part of the John G. Eccles Leadership Summit.

LC students, along with a handful of student leaders from Central Virginia Community College, picked up trash, painted, and power-washed for a variety of organizations including Citizens for a Clean Lynchburg, the Adult Care Center of Central Virginia, Rebuilding Together, and the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department.
On Thursday, students have a variety of workshops to attend to enhance their roles as student leaders throughout the campus community. Some are government and organization leaders, for example, while others are academic and social mentors for fellow students.
The Leadership Summit is named in honor of John Eccles, vice president and dean for student development.
