The men’s University of Lynchburg indoor track team is ranked 13th and the women’s team is ranked 20th nationally.
The men’s team just won its 13th consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship and is ranked 13th in the nation, topping the South Region by more than four points over second-place Emory University. The Hornets received points in 14 events.
Dan Reid (South Hamilton, MA/Hamilton-Wenhom), John Michael Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest), Sam Steinke (The Woodlands, TX/American School of Dubai), James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River), Nolan Compton (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park), and Rashard Adams (Ashburn, VA/Stonebridge) each account for over 10 points apiece for a Hornet squad that has accumulated 134.42 points.
The women’s team placed second at the ODAC Championship and is ranked 20th in Division III and third regionally. LC received points in 16 events. Mel McFayden (Ipswich, MA/Ipswich), Ashley Meyer (Springfield, MO/Glendale), LaCear Hubbard (Madison Heights, VA/Amherst), and Jessica Gibbs (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) each provided over eight points each toward the point total of 115.57.
