University of Lynchburg Theatre will present The Tempest, William Shakespeare’s final play about revenge, romance, and reconciliation, on Oct. 8 – 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Dillard Fine Arts Center Theatre.
The dramatic romance revolves around the adventures of King Alonso of Naples and his entourage who are washed ashore on a strange island inhabited by a magician who deliberately conjured up the storm.
The 16-member cast includes two students from Central Virginia, Derek Arey of Lynchburg and Matt Bowyer of Bedford.
The box office (434/ 544-8353) opens Monday, October 5, at 1 p.m. and will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays and a half hour before curtain time. Tickets are $10, adults; $8, senior citizens (60+); $5, students. All seats are reserved.
