For the third year in a row, LC students are participating in a program aimed at fostering inclusion and ending discrimination. About 45 students and five faculty and staff will attend this program from Jan. 11-14 at Eagle Eyrie Retreat Center in Bedford County.
The Allies Institute is the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ signature higher education program. An intensive four-day, three-night retreat for students and faculty/staff, the Allies Institute features interactive workshops, small group discussions, and experiential exercises designed to allow participants to think deeply about prejudice and discrimination. At the end of the program, the group develops action plans to share with their peers.
