The Music Department will present its third Esther C. Olin Lecture Recital Series on Piano Performance on January 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Sydnor Performance Hall, Elliot & Rosel Schewel Hall, featuring the music of Ludwig von Beethoven.
Dr. Cynthia Ramsey, assistant professor of music, will lecture on Ludwig van Beethoven: Defining Genius for Over a Century. Other performers will include Noémi Otto, instructor of piano; Dr. Pamela James, assistant professor of music; F. Johnson Scott III, instructor of music; The Ad Astra Trio of University of Lynchburg (Matthew Booth, piano; Anna Piddubna, violin; Teresa Crist, cello); Brittany Montoro ’10, music theory and composition major; and Matthew Booth ’11, music performance and mathematics major.
The lecture/recital series was established by the LC Music Program to honor Esther Olin, retired piano and composition professor, who taught at the College for more than 20 years.
