Ashley Baker ’12 has been awarded a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad in England for the upcoming academic year. She is University of Lynchburg’s first recipient of this national-level award.
A math major from Seattle, Wash., Baker will be studying abroad through Randolph College’s program with the University of Reading.
The Gilman Scholarship Program was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
