International Education Week, Nov. 14-18, is co-sponsored by the Department of State and Department of Education to raise global awareness and promote international exchange activities.
All week:
Shutterbugs III – Study Abroad Photo Contest – photos from all entrants are on display in the Dillard Fine Arts Center
Scavenger Hunt/Quiz – Students respond to questions related to international education at LC. Students with top scores will be put into a drawing for prizes. Quizzes will be available during events throughout the week and in the Study Abroad and MACS Offices.
MTW: Study Abroad Info Sessions outside the cafeteria, Burton Student Center, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Monday: International Food Festival featuring delicious food, mariachi music, and cultural displays, 3:30-5:30 p.m., Memorial Ballroom
Tuesday: Ronald Calvo, a naturalist and guide in his native Costa Rica, will speak on “Sustainability through ecotourism, rainforest protection and user fees in Costa Rica,” Hopwood Auditorium, 4 p.m.
Study Abroad and International Students will give presentations on their experiences, Hopwood Auditorium, 7 p.m.
Wednesday: International Society – Awareness Day outside the cafeteria, Burton Student Center
Ronald Calvo, a naturalist and guide in his native Costa Rica, will give a lecture in Spanish on “La historia y cultura de Costa Rica,” Faculty Resources Room (231) in Schewel Hall, 5 p.m.
