Solo pianist David Nevue will perform on Saturday, September 19 at 7 p.m. in Sydnor Performance Hall, Schewel Hall. The concert, sponsored in part by University of Lynchburg, will benefit the Daily Bread, a local soup kitchen.
David Nevue has performed his classical music all over the United States, and his music is heard on more than 220 music stations. With 10 recorded CDs, he has established a quality of music that is described as being hauntingly romantic. Nevue has also been recognized as a versatile composer through such CDs as The Vigil, a solemn album expressing his religious views, and Postcards from Germany, an upbeat collection of songs inspired by his European travels. His album, Overcome, won “Best Instrumental Piano Album” in 2005. The concert at LC will feature Nevue’s solo piano music, as well as his unique version of some familiar pieces.
Daily Bread, established in 1982, provides the homeless with a friendly environment and free, healthy meals seven days a week. The non-profit organization is supported through the organization’s volunteers and public donations.
Tickets for the concert are $25 per person, and all proceeds go to Daily Bread. Tickets may be purchased at the LC Bookstore.
