For the second year in a row, University of Lynchburg students are participating in a program aimed at fostering inclusion.
The Allies Institute is the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ signature higher education program. WSET visited the program at Eagle Eyrie in Bedford County Wednesday night. Check out the coverage.
An intensive four-day, three-night retreat for students and faculty/staff, the Allies Institute features interactive workshops, small group discussions, and experiential exercises designed to allow participants to think deeply about prejudice and discrimination. At the end of the program, the group develops action plans to share with their peers.
