“Ethics and National Security: Striking a Balance in Decision Making” is the topic of a talk by W. George Jameson, former Central Intelligence Agency senior attorney, at 8 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Memorial Ballroom, Hall Campus Center, Lynchburg College.
“Mr. Jameson has been a key member of the intelligence community for 33 years and he has had a front seat at the table with most of the main players and decision makers in that world,” said Paul Kelbaugh, instructor in business administration at LC and a former associate general counsel for the CIA. “Lynchburg College has the honor of hosting him here for his first public lecture anywhere since his retirement from an amazing career.”
Prior to his retirement this year after a career of more than three decades, Jameson served as an attorney and manager at the CIA, as well as in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Department of Justice, and White House Counsel’s Office. His responsibilities involved a wide range of matters involving intelligence policy and law, including operational, legislative, and ethical issues.
The talk, which is sponsored by the Richard P. Gifford Lecture Series in the School of Business and Economics, is free and open to the public.
