With funding from Virginia Humanities, the University of Lynchburg and Pierce Street Gateway have collaborated to begin showcasing the voices of those who called the Pierce Street Historic District home. This first installment of the documentary captures the spirit of one of Lynchburg’s most iconic Black neighborhoods. Through intimate interviews, breathtaking visuals, and unprecedented access, the documentary brings to life the stories of resilience, community, and legacy that have shaped Pierce Street over the decades.
