Her upcoming book, “Intermediaries,” explores the first transgender and LGBTQ+ rights movement that took place in Germany between the world wars. In it, she’s crafting a story about race, disability, and social justice. “Intermediaries” will depict how science and medicine were used to evil ends, an instance when Nazis burned down an LGBTQ+ library, and the ways in which they purported to use science to justify genocide.
