The SGA cabinet is the governing board of the Student Government Association. Cabinet is responsible for governing all student organizations on campus and works with the class councils. The cabinet also sponsors several events throughout the year such as Club Fair Day, co-sponsored speakers, and Homecoming.


Grace Leahey, 

Grace Leahey is a senior double major in History and Political Science from Warwick, Rhode Island. She started as a Senator her first year in SGA. Sophomore year she held the position of Public Relations Coordinator; junior year she was the Special Events Coordinator. Grace has truly enjoyed being part of student government at LC, and hopes to facilitate and encourage more student-centered change on campus in her role as President. In addition to involvement with SGA, Grace is also the Large Group Coordinator for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.


Radereka “Lynn” Russell,

Lynn Russell is a Mathematic major with a minor in Business Administration. She is a senior from South Hill, Virginia. Before she was elected Vice-President, she served as Executive Treasurer for the previous academic year and a Senator from Fall 11-Spring 13. Along with her involvement in SGA, Lynn currently serves as a tutor in the Math Lab, a member of the Hula Hoop Club, and an intern at Genworth Financial. She is looking forward to her final year at LC as well as her term as SGA VP.

2nd Vice-President

Sean Austin, 

Sean Austin is a junior pursuing a major in Economics with two minors, Leadership Studies and Outdoor Recreation. He lives in Richmond, Virginia and graduated from Clover Hill High School in 2012. Before being elected 2nd Vice President, Sean served two years as President of the Class of 2016. Sean is also the recruitment chairman for the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity on campus. He also serves on the leadership team for the Campus Outreach ministry at Lynchburg College. Sean is eager to serve his fellow senators and the student body as the second vice president of Student Government Association.

Special Events Coordinator

Deiyun Song,

Dieyun Song is a senior double major in Management and Economic Crime Prevention and Investigations with a minor in Accounting. She is from Beijing, China. This is Dieyun’s first year on SGA as Special Events Coordinator. In addition to her involvement in SGA, she is a sister of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority and serves as the Zeta Upsilon chapter’s Editor and Historian. Besides, Dieyun is also the President of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society for the year of 2013-2014. She previously held the executive position of Sponsorship Chairperson of St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn and is an alumni of the Lynchburg College Bonner Leader Program. Dieyun is in four national honors societies, including Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, Delta Mu Delta, and Order of Omega. She is very excited to be the Special Events Coordinator and to be more connected to the community.


Leandra Williams, 

Leandra is a junior perusing a major in Environmental Science and a minor in French. She is from the city of Castries on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia and she graduated from the Saint Joseph’s Convent Secondary School in 2008 and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in 2010. This will be her first year serving on the SGA, but she is also a member of PACE, the International Society and campus volunteer groups such as Creciendo Juntos. Leandra is passionate about being involved in the campus, Lynchburg and St. Lucian communities and she looks forward to serving on the SGA.

Public Relations Chair

Mariam Ernesta-Savy, 

Mariam is a senior pursuing an International Relations degree.  This is her first position with Lynchburg college’s Student government, although she has been involved and held positions with student development in organizations such as; International Society, the Catholic community, Inclusive alliance, Love 146 throughout the past three years. For the duration of Summer 2013 Mariam managed to earn an internship as an Advisor for the Republic of Seychelles Mission to the United Nations in New York City for three months.  Mariam is looking forward to gaining experience working with her fellow student body.
