For August 2019
Welcome to the University of Lynchburg! To make your transition to life at Lynchburg as a transfer student as smooth a transition as possible, we offer programs and events specifically for you. We’re also available to answer your questions any time.
Get ready for Lynchburg in six easy steps:
Contact your academic advisor
After paying your reservation deposit, you will receive a email in April with your advisor’s name and contact information. You should contact your advisor to discuss your class schedule.
Make sure you have sent your final transcripts from all previous institutions and reviewed your transcript evaluation to make sure you do not enroll in courses you do not need to take.
Before you meet with your advisor,
- Review your transfer credit evaluation and have it with you. You should receive this from the Registrar’s office.
- Become familiar with the academic catalog and the course requirements for the major(s) in which you are interested.
- Come prepared with any questions you may have regarding your major, career interests, internships, etc.
In addition to helping you plan your schedule, your advisor can:
- Help you create a long-term plan for graduation
- Tell you about major-specific clubs, organizations and other opportunities
- Advise you about opportunities for internships, research or study abroad programs
- Help you explore post-graduate education and career opportunities
Register for Classes Online
After you talk with your academic advisor, you can register for classes online at MyLynchburg.
You will receive instructions from your academic advisor on how to register online for your classes. If you have any questions about online registration, please call 434.544.8218.
Please note: If a class you want is closed, speak to your advisor. Your advisor may suggest alternatives that will still help you progress along in your program.
If you will be living on campus, you must complete the housing preference form by July 9th so that you can be paired with a compatible roommate. Be sure to indicate that you are a transfer student when completing the form. Remember that placements are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Assignments will be made around the third week of July and you will be notified through your Lynchburg email.

To get more information about the Health Center or the form, visit the Health Center web pages or contact them at 434.544.8357.
