Before You Arrive
As you prepare to start your journey at the University of Lynchburg, make sure to take a look at the Transfer Student Checklist. This will provide an easy-to-follow path for you to complete all of the necessary steps before you begin your first day of class.
National Transfer Student Week
The University of Lynchburg joins with the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students to participate in National Transfer Student Week. Every November, transfer students are celebrated with a variety of events and programming, including academic and social options.
Tau Sigma
Tau Sigma National Honor Society is an academic honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic success and involvement of transfer students. An induction ceremony in held in the spring semester for eligible students who accept the invitation to join Tau Sigma National Honor Society.
To be invited to join Tau Sigma you must maintain a minimum academic average of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in your first semester at University of Lynchburg. You must have also completed at least one full year of academic credits at your previous institution. Eligibility is limited to the first term of enrollment at University of Lynchburg. You will get an email from the chapter advisor in late January letting you know if you are eligible for membership.
National Transfer Accolades
Every spring, transfer students are applauded for their academic and extracurricular achievements at the University of Lynchburg through our Transfer Accolades event. Faculty and staff who go above and beyond to assist the transfer population are also celebrated during this time. Additionally, at this award ceremony, new Tau Sigma members participate in their induction ceremony. Information and invitations to Transfer Accolades is sent out about halfway through the Spring semester.
