Alex Akulli joined Lynchburg College in August 2012 from Michigan State University, in East Lansing, where is a candidate for the PhD Degree in Education Administration. At LC, Alex is working on issues around accessibility, diversity, and quality in global education. He has worked in a university setting for over a decade, and his background includes experience in international enrollment management, international and community development, faculty professional development, curriculum design and teaching, study abroad program development and management, immigration regulations, student development, and strategic planning and management.
Alex has traveled to numerous countries where he has taught, studied, conducted research, and cultivated institutional partnerships. He has served on various internationalization taskforces, and has given over a dozen conference presentations and lectures on intercultural education and learning.

Kara Hoxworth joined the Lynchburg College community in June 2013 from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania where she completed her MA in Higher Education. Through her experiences studying, traveling, and living abroad she recognizes the academic value and profound impact study abroad and international experiences can have on one’s life. Kara is an advocate for international education and diverse learning experiences, and she thoroughly enjoys her role at LC that allows her to assist in facilitating quality international opportunities that allow many to travel with purpose, gain international competency, and learn more about the world and their place in it.
When not at work, Kara enjoys being outside hiking, camping, and stand up paddle-boarding, as well as exploring new cities and countries, experiencing the culture and tasting the local cuisine.

Kevin began working with international students during his undergraduate studies at Lynchburg College, and transitioned into the Graduate Assistant position in the Center for Global Education in January of 2012.
Following his graduation from Lynchburg College in 2007, Kevin lived in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where he taught English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. Kevin holds certificate from Gonzaga University in TESOL and has utilized his skills in teaching ESL at LC and other local institutions in Lynchburg. Having traveled, lived and worked abroad, Kevin enjoys working with both the international students at LC and also helping local students study abroad.
Kevin has experience in radio, chaplaincy, and professional tomato planting. In 2014, Kevin will graduate from Lynchburg College with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
