How to Get Your Room Assignment
If you are a new student living on campus, you must first pay your housing deposit. Then, complete the New Student Housing Application (new first year students) or the Transfer Student Housing Application (new transfer students) for the fall semester found by logging into your Housing Portal and clicking on the “Applications” tab. This form helps us match you with a roommate based on your lifestyle and preferences.
Students can search for roommates through the Housing Portal after they have submitted their housing application. Students can do so by going to their Housing Portal, selecting “Room Selection,” and then selecting “Select Roommates.” Students must each invite and accept each other in the system to be matched. Only students that have paid their housing deposit and have completed the housing application will appear in this process.
Housing applications are due June 11, 2021, for all incoming students (first-year students and transfer students). Roommate requests are due June 18, 2021. New first-year students will select their housing assignments through the Housing Portal on June 29 (single occupancy rooms as available) and July 1 (double occupancy rooms). Transfer students will be placed in consultation with the Housing Coordinator. Housing and roommate assignments will be made available via the Housing Portal during the week of July 5, 2021.
All incoming first-year students are placed in Montgomery and Tate Halls. Transfer students and other incoming students will be placed in one of our upper-class residential facilities.
The University of Lynchburg will accept and consider requests for reasonable accommodations in campus housing at any time. The individual requesting accommodation should complete and provide the Disability Accommodations Request Form for University Housing as soon as possible before moving into campus housing.
However, if the accommodation request is made fewer than 60 days before the individual intends to move into university housing, the University of Lynchburg cannot guarantee that it will be able to meet the individual’s accommodation needs during the first semester or term of occupancy. To be considered for housing accommodations, students must apply for housing accommodations through the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources. Please realize that this can be a lengthy process, so students will want to review these guidelines and begin this process as soon as possible. The priority deadline to apply for housing accommodations is Thursday, June 24, 2021.
