Students will have the option to move back into their residence on January 22, 2020, January 23, 2020, or January 24, 2020. There will be a limit of 350 move in slots on each day. This will ensure that not all students are returning on one single day. This process is on a first come, first served basis. While we encourage students to arrive between 8:00am-10:00pm, we also understand that transportation may require students arriving outside of that window of time.
*Early arrival groups including athletes and other student groups and organizations should contact your coach, faculty sponsor, or advisor for specific check-in information.
Before you come
You can make your check-in process faster and easier through these quick steps.
- Check your email for messages from the Office of Financial Aid and follow any instructions there. This will save you a stop at check-in.
- Complete the Business Office Checklist.
- Pack your belongings, with the What to Bring checklist as your guide.
- Make sure you have completed the Required Health Information forms and submit to Campus Health Center.
Where to check in
All students check in at Schewel Hall. (That’s here.) Do not go to your residence hall first.
First-year students will receive a move-in ticket and a map showing easy directions from the back of campus, down College Drive, and into the main campus entrance. Volunteers will direct you down the right road, too. When you pull up behind your residence hall, volunteers will help you quickly unload and then watch your belongings while you park your car. Then they help you carry everything to your new home away from home.
After check in
Once you have checked in, unpacked, and gotten settled, it’s time for Hornet Days, a fun orientation to your first-year experience at the University of Lynchburg. For details, check the Hornet Days web page or download the Hornet Days app and read your Getting Started Guide.
