We’re excited to help you get started at University of Lynchburg. When you arrive to check in, volunteers and staff will welcome you with open arms. But between now and then, let’s talk about how to make your check-in and move-in day as easy as possible.
Getting here
For move-in and check-in day, we need you to come to the back part of campus, rather than our front entrance.
To help you get to the right place, please use the form below. We’ll give you a link for custom Google Maps directions.

What do I need to check in?
You can make your check-in process faster and easier by reading these FAQs.
Before you come
You can make your check-in process faster and easier through these quick steps.
- Check your email for messages from the Office of Financial Aid and follow any instructions there. This will save you a stop at check-in.
- Complete the Business Office Checklist.
- Pack your belongings, with the What to Bring checklist as your guide.
- Make sure you have completed the Required Health Information forms and submit to Campus Health Center.
Where to check in
All students check in at Schewel Hall. (That’s here.) Do not go to your residence hall first.
Move in
First-year students will receive a move-in ticket and a map showing easy directions from the back of campus, down College Drive, and into the main campus entrance. Volunteers will direct you down the right road, too. When you pull up behind your residence hall, volunteers will help you quickly unload and then watch your belongings while you park your car. Then they help you carry everything to your new home away from home.
After check in
Once you have checked in, unpacked, and gotten settled, it’s time for Hornet Days, a fun orientation to your first-year experience at the University of Lynchburg. For details, check the Hornet Days web page or download the Hornet Days app and read your Getting Started Guide.
