2024-25
All full-time undergraduate students are required to live on campus at the University of Lynchburg, with the following exceptions:
- Student lives with a parent or legal guardian
- Student is married
- Student is a single parent
- Student is over 23 years of age
- Student has 85+ earned credit hours and has been approved by the Office of Housing and Residence Life to reside off campus

Housing Intent Application
Those students intending to reside on campus for the 2024-25 academic year must complete the Housing Intent Application, which will be open Jan. 29 – March 4 on the Housing Portal. Any student intending to live on campus for 2024-25 must complete the application to participate in a housing selection process.
Early-housing Processes
March 4 |
Residing in a Fraternity or Sorority HouseStudents planning to live in a fraternity or sorority house must submit a housing agreement form. Fraternity and sorority houses must be filled to capacity. This form is due by March 4. |
March 8 |
Application to Reside Off CampusPriority deadline to submit the Application to Reside Off Campus for 2024-25. Application will be available on the Housing Portal. Students must meet the criteria to be granted approval to reside off campus or to commute from a parent or legal guardian address. Exceptions will be considered on a rare basis, and students are responsible for submitting supporting documentation. Students not approved to reside off campus must come through a housing selection process. |
March 8 |
Students Applying for Housing AccommodationsPriority deadline for students applying for housing accommodations to have completed all required documentation and met with the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources. Please begin making arrangements as soon as possible to meet the aforementioned deadline. |
Southside Housing Process
Students must have at least 30 earned credits at the time of the housing process. Credit hours in progress (Spring 2024) are not included in this count. Earned credit totals are provided by the Office of the Registrar. Please note: There are no exceptions to this policy.
All Students
March 18 | All students interested in residing in Southside Housing, who have not been assigned through an aforementioned process, must attend a mandatory, virtual Southside Housing 2024-25 meeting at 8 p.m. |
Groups of Six Students
March 19 | Southside Housing applicant groups of six students (only) can begin to select their roommates/housemates. The roommate selection deadline for Southside groups of six is 1 p.m. on March 25. |
March 26 | Six-person Southside groups may select their housing for 2024-25. This process will be completed electronically through the THD Housing Portal. Sign-up times are based on credit hours and the GPAs of group members. |
Groups of Five Students
March 26 | Southside Housing applicant groups of five students (only) can begin to select their roommates/housemates. Roommate selection deadline for Southside groups of five is 1 p.m. on March 28. |
March 29 | Five-person Southside groups may select their housing for 2024-25. This process will be completed electronically through the THD Housing Portal. Sign-up times will be based on credit hours and the GPAs of group members. |
Groups of Four Students
March 29 | Southside housing applicant groups of four students (only) can begin to select their roommates/housemates. Roommate selection deadline for Southside groups of four is 1 p.m. on April 1. |
April 2 | Four-person Southside Groups may select their housing for 2024-25. This process will be completed electronically through the THD Housing Portal. Sign-up times will be based on credit hours and the GPAs of group members. |
Groups of Three Students
April 2 | Southside housing applicant groups of three students (only) can begin to select their roommates/housemates. Roommate selection deadline for Southside groups of three is 1 p.m. on April 4. |
April 5 | Three-person Southside groups may select their housing for 2024-25. This process will be completed electronically through the THD Housing Portal. Sign-up times will be based on credit hours and the GPAs of group members. |
Residence Hall Housing Process
All students who do not yet have a housing assignment for 2024-25 are eligible to go through the residence hall housing process.
April 8 | All students interested in residing in a residence hall, who have not been assigned through an aforementioned process, must attend a mandatory Residence Hall Housing 2024-25 meeting at 8 p.m. |
April 9 | Students going through the residence hall housing process can begin to select their roommates/floormates/suitemates. These groups can include from one to six students. The roommate selection deadline is 1 p.m. on April 12. |
April 14 | Residence hall room selection process takes place for 2024-25. This process will be completed electronically through the THD Housing Portal. Sign up times will be based on credit hours and the GPAs of group members. |
April 17 | Final residence hall room selection process for all remaining students that have not participated in a housing selection process. This process will be completed through the Housing Portal. |
