Meeting new people, networking, and connecting with others is important, especially in a different country. It can be very isolating, but we want to help you connect with others. Explore several connecting opportunities below. Here, you can meet others and grow in your new role as a student at the University of Lynchburg.
Ambassador Program
Our International Student Ambassadors can help make your transition to a new country and the University of Lynchburg easier. Our international ambassadors have been on your journey and paved the way for you. We want to help you connect with others more on campus. Our Ambassadors are current students who wish to assist and support you as you adjust to American culture and University of Lynchburg life.
Bonners Program
The University of Lynchburg is one of 70 colleges and universities in the Bonner network. The University aims to imbue students with strong character and balanced perspectives and prepare them for effective leadership.
The University of Lynchburg’s Bonner Leader Program is an initiative of The Corella & Bertram F. Bonner Foundation and the University’s Center for Community Engagement. Bonner Leaders serve 10 hours a week at a nonprofit, school, or government agency as part of a work-study placement. Besides their professional skills, Bonner Leaders develop deeper thinking skills through on-campus reflective exercises and educational programming. This helps students understand difference, power, and privilege and prepares them to become passionate leaders.
Spiritual Life
Connecting with spiritual organizations in the area and on campus can provide spiritual guidance and a sense of belonging as you meet others in the same faith as you. There are places where you can grow in your faith or religion and support you in your journey.
Please see our Spiritual Life page for a list of the off-campus and on-campus resources for spiritual belonging.
