Cabinet

The SGA cabinet is the governing board of the Student Government Association. Cabinet is responsible for governing all student organizations on campus and works with the class councils. The cabinet also sponsors several events throughout the year such as Club Fair Day, co-sponsored speakers, and Homecoming.

President

Sal Onofrio, onofrio_s@students.lynchburg.edu

Sal Onofrio is a double major in Economics and Philosophy with a minor in Business from Beacon Falls, Connecticut. He started in SGA as a senator in his first-year here at Lynchburg College. He was appointed to executive treasurer during his second and third year at LC. Sal looks forward to serving the students during his presidency. As well as being the president of SGA, Sal is the president of Lynchburg College Entrepreneur’s Organization, treasurer of Love 146, treasurer for Society for Human Resources, and is a brother in Delta Sigma Pi. Vice President

Shameka Ferrell, ferrell_s@students.lynchburg.edu

Shameka Ferrell is a senior double major in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Social Influence and Theatre with a General emphasis. She is from Blairs, Virginia where she graduated as Senior Class President from Dan River High School. Prior to taking her role as Vice President, Shameka served with the Student Government Association as the Second Vice President during Spring 2013 and was a Senator from 2011 to fall 2013. Alongside her involvement with SGA, she is involved in several other campus organizations. She is Vice President of the Gay-Straight Alliance, a member of the Black Student Association, a member of the Epsilon Cast of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honor Society and a member of Lambda Pi Eta. She is also involved with InterVarsity a Christian fellowship group on campus. Shameka has cherished her time as a member of SGA and looks forward to the growth and success that will happen on Lynchburg College’s campus this next year.

Second Vice President

Megan Paugh, paugh_m@students.lynchburg.edu

Megan Paugh is a junior pursing a major in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. She is from Ellicott City, Maryland and graduated from Centennial High School in 2011. Before being elected to second vice president, Megan served two years as a senator and served on the budget committee. Megan is also a Southside RA for the 2013-2014 academic year. She is also the vice president of the women’s club basketball team and is a member of Campus Outreach and Intervarsity organizations on campus. Megan is eager to serve as the second vice president of Student Government Association.

Secretary

Sierra Spicer is a senior pursuing a major in Theatre Performance with a minor in Communication Studies. She is from Laurel, Delaware where she graduated as Class Valedictorian from Laurel Senior High School. Prior to taking her role as Secretary, Sierra served with the Student Government Association as the Special Events’ Coordinator from 2011-2014 and was Class of 2014 Secretary from 2010-2011. Alongside her involvement with SGA, she is involved in several other campus organizations. She is an officer for the Epsilon Cast of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honor Society, sister of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, member of Phi Eta Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa and Lambda Pi Eta, and is a member of the LC Theatre Department. She also performs in community theatre productions throughout the City of Lynchburg.  Sierra has enjoyed being a member of SGA these past three years and looks forward to leaving her legacy on Lynchburg College’s campus this next year.

Treasurer

Radereka "Lynn" Russell, russell_r@students.lynchburg.edu

Lynn is a junior majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Economics and Business Administration. She is from South Hill, Virginia and graduated from Park View High School in 2011. Lynn began her service with SGA Senate in the fall of 2011. She also served on SGA Budget Committee for her first four semesters at LC. She is a member of LC’s Math Club and Gay-Straight Alliance. Lynn is excited to spend more time crunching numbers as the SGA Treasurer.

Public Relations Chair

Melissa Berkowitz, berkowitz_m@students.lynchburg.edu

Melissa Berkowitz is a senior Communication Studies major, with an emphasis in Convergent Journalism and a minor in English. She is from Brookeville, Maryland and graduated from Sherwood High School in 2010. This is her first year on SGA and she serves as Public Relations Coordinator. In addition to her involvement in SGA, she is committed to many other organizations. She is a sister of Alpha Chi Omega, Fraternity and serves as the Iota Omicron chapter’s Vice President of Recruitment on the executive board. She previously held the position on the executive board of Vice President of Intellectual Development for Alpha Chi Omega as well. She is a supervisor at Phonathon for the Annual Fund. She is in four national honors societies, including: Lambda Pi Eta, Sigma Tau Delta, Order of Omega, and Omicron Delta Kappa. She is more than excited to be even more connected to Lynchburg College by serving on SGA for her first time.

Special Events Coordinator

Rabbiea "Robbie" Manzoor, manzoor_r@students.lynchburg.edu

Rabbiea Manzoor is a junior pursuing a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. She is from Montvale, Virginia and graduated from Liberty High School in 2011. Prior to being Special Events coordinator of SGA she served on Senate for a year as part of the Constitution committee. She is also the Treasurer of Kappa Delta Sorority and a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi. Rabbiea is excited to be the Special Events Coordinator and can't wait to plan exciting events this year!

Chief of Staff

Cameron "Cam" Gates, gates_c@students.lynchburg.edu

Cameron Gates is a senior Biomedical Science major with a minor in health promotions. He is from Altavista, Virginia where he graduated from Altavista High school in 2010.  Before becoming the SGA Chief of Staff, Cameron served in the student senate during 2010-2011 Academic year, and as the Secretary of SGA during 2011-2012 & 2012-2013 Academic years. Cameron is also a member of the Beta Beta Beta biological Science honor society, a member of the American Chemical Society, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a member of the Pre-Med Club, and the Secretary of Phi Kappa Tau. Cameron is looking forward to helping SGA continue to evolve as an organization by serving his fourth and final year in SGA as the Chief of Staff.
